Laidback Electronica is a hybrid label, in the meaning that releases can either be web based or physical. At the moment, though, all releases are still web based. At a later date, the first physical releases (either cd, dvd or vinyl) will be released.
The music released can be categorized as Laidback Electronica, as the name already suggests. This is a very wide categorization, which includes but is not limited to ambient, laidback idm, downtempo and trip hop. Main target is that the music is nice and easy to listen to. "Easy Listening Electronica", so to speak.
Web releases will always exist of a few tracks as .mp3 or .ogg, accompanied by printable artwork. That way, even though it's a web release, if you like it, you could burn it to cd, print the artwork, and have it with you in a physical way as well. Web releases will always be available for free!
Physical releases will always be accompanied by a web release. The web release will contain one or two tracks from the physical release, accompanied by one, two or more web-exclusive tracks. And of course, extra artwork for the web based release.
If you are interested in doing a release through Laidback Electronica, read our Demo page and after that, Contact us.
Laidback Electronica is very grateful to the people at Archive.org for hosting the releases.

Laidback Electronica was founded by Stefan Koopmanschap, the person behind the (now dead) Wide Area Network Records label, a small cd-r label that released idm, experimental and dark ambient music. After Wide Area Network Records died, he felt empty inside and wanted to run a label again. Laidback Electronica was set up with a slightly more serious target in mind: Combining the online music scene with the offline music scene and getting the best of both worlds.
